An unplanned, yet powerful, new album from UK rap's Joker Starr, Sidenote is a defiant musical statement born from
the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when the government told creatives to "retrain," Starr chose to create
instead, putting together an organic collection of tracks without a grand plan. The result is a raw, focused body
of work that channels frustration into craft, proving that necessity and restriction can fuel some of the most
honest music in an artist's catalogue.
Released October 3, 2025, Sidenote brings together a tight circle of collaborators that amplify Starr's energy
across eight tracks. Features come heavy from AnyWay Tha God, Chima Anya, Micall Parknsun, Big Cakes, and Marv Won,
with production handled by Micall Parknsun, OphQi, and Apollo, plus cuts by Jazz T. From the boom-bap grit of "Don't
Try to Test" to the soulful reflection of "Let's Be in Love," the album moves between battle-ready bars and
personal testament — a sidenote that turned out to be essential listening.
